The church in Gari, as well as in the rest of Miyak villages, is surrounded by a rampart.
The church was completed in 1860, and the masters Dicho Zograf, his son Avram Dichov and his student Petar Jovanovich worked on the church itself for its fresco painting. In the rich iconostasis of the church, there are also icons made by Dicho Zograf in the period 1857-1866.
However, it is believed that the church in Gari is much older, about three centuries.
The church was consecrated in 1866.
The church is distinguished by a very rich and well-preserved fresco painting. The frescoes in the church are found everywhere and there is no empty space, so even on the upper floor of the church there are interesting and rich frescoes. All the frescoes in the church were made by Dicho Zograf, his son Avram Dichov and his student Petar Jovanovich.
One feature of the church is the eye drawn in a triangle, which is believed to follow you wherever you move. This symbol is commonly associated with Freemasonry, yet it may not be immediately associated with it. In addition to this sign, in the church there is also a sun with 16 arms of the sun, which the villagers consider a symbol of the Miyaks.
Dicho painted the frescoes inside the church, which is known for having a fresco of the Mother of God with angel wings on one of its vaults, which is a rare motif in Macedonian churches.
The fresco painting was restored during 1986.
In addition to the rich fresco painting, the iconostasis was taken care of by the famous potters Petre Filipovski Garkata and his brothers Marko and Jovan Filipovski, who come from Gari.
The church also keeps bones brought from Jerusalem, which are believed to bring health and life.
